Funny how, all of a sudden, you can feel better when your family gets sick... I still have the same temperature, 38.0, 38.1, but I'm so much better than two days ago!
Why? Because my husband got sick yesterday. And his fever is much higher.
And my daughter started having pains in her legs last night.
And my son's fever is down, but he's still coughing up a juicy lung every hour...
I ordered my groceries online, IGA for those interested, had them delivered to my home, cooked a bit, cleaned up the kitchen, and did my rounds with my electric thermometer every couple of hours.
How come yesterday, with the same temperature, I was in bed or watching cooking shows with my son, all bundled up on the sofa? Hhmmm.
I think we have some kind of sixth sense - it's not an original idea, I know - that gives us energy when our kids and/or husbands get sick too.
My husband took care of me at the beginning of the week, I wonder if it was his sixth sense that made him make lunch for our daughter (wow!), take her to school and back, take out the garbage, make macaroni and cheese, deal with the contractors who are gonna fix our bloody house before we can sell it, negotiate a new deal with the buyers, speak with our real estate agent, find time to come into our room to take my temperature every four hours with some tylenol and a glass of juice, just so I didn't turn into a cooked prune... and all this while he was working from home, in the basement.
I guess it's not just moms. It's just people who care.
My husband cares. (I can hear you: aaawwwwww)
